Building Akṣarā

Built the creative vision, brand, and experience portfolio for an arts-based cultural-learning initiative that delivered 30+ public programs and grew institutional partnerships by 200% in five years.

Indian cultural programming is often presented primarily through festivals or performances. Akṣarā needed a distinct model that could turn Indian knowledge systems and visual traditions into inquiry-led, participatory learning for youth, adults, families and older adults.

  • Defined the mission and differentiated Akṣarā through arts-based cultural learning.
  • Created the brand identity and guided its expression across web, social, print and outdoor promotion.
  • Built the program architecture across public events, curriculum-based courses, online experiences and creative-aging programs.
  • Developed partnerships with libraries, parks, public agencies and community organizations.
  • Directed experiences from concept and curriculum through facilitation and evaluation.
